Lake Merritt Child Care Center – Public Art for Family Bridges, Inc.

In 2021, Engineered Artworks collaborated with Ventura Partners to create a series of playful sculptural artworks for the facade of the Family Bridges Lake Merritt Child Care Center in Oakland, California. This project reflects Engineered Artworks’ ability to integrate custom public art into educational and community-oriented architecture.

The vibrant facade elements were designed to spark imagination and joy for children and families entering the space, while also enhancing the building’s visual presence in the neighborhood. Engineered Artworks provided design consultation, CNC steel fabrication, and installation, aligning aesthetics with durability for long-term public use.

This project demonstrates the studio’s strength in public art fabrication for civic and community-based spaces, and their ability to create artwork that’s both functional and inspiring.
