LATHAM SQUARE PLAZA

Working with Rebar Design Studio, Ian Moore landscape design, and the Downtown Oakland Association, Engineered Artworks fabricated a related series of durable metal and wooden placemaking elements for a downtown plaza located at the central intersection of Telegraph and Broadway. During its yearlong installation, the Latham Square Pilot Plaza allowed users and stakeholders to test various arrangements of placemaking, landscaping, and design elements, as well as serving as an experimental community gathering place and event space.
