24 May The de Young Museum announces Sean Orlando as a 2012 Artist Fellow
The de Young Museum has announced Sean Orlando’s collaborative 2012 Artist Fellowship. Teaming up with Rebar and in partnership with the Black Rock Arts Foundation, we will be developing Urbanauts, a speculative exploration of urban infrastructure and the everyday urban experience.
“Through a series of interwoven conversations, urban expeditions, and conjectural artworks, Orlando and Rebar will examine and explore the ways in which urban inhabitants relate (or don’t) to the largely unseen mechanical systems, societal constructs, and cultural imperatives that mediate and structure life in the built environment.â€
