Engineered Artworks collaborated with Rebar Design Studio, Architecture for Humanity, and the City of San Francisco to fabricate and install a collection of custom placemaking elements for Burrows Street Pocket Park, a community space located in the Portola district. Opened in 2014, the park quickly became a beloved neighborhood hub offering both functionality and aesthetic appeal.
As the public art fabricator, Engineered Artworks implemented a cohesive design strategy with durable materials and artistic features. The fabricated elements included powder-coated, CNC laser-cut steel gates, 1/4″ stainless steel benches, and hardwood bench tops, all tailored to reflect the local character and meet community needs.
This project illustrates EA’s continued commitment to Bay Area public art fabrication, integrating custom metalwork and design fabrication to enrich urban landscapes and civic identity.
