Y-Knot Saloon – Immersive Western Art Car
Y-Knot Saloon is a fully immersive, mobile sculptural installation designed by Sean Orlando, JP Conte, and Keith London. Engineered and fabricated by Engineered Artworks with carpentry by Dave Keane of Folly Builders, the project transforms a 50-foot automotive chassis into a functioning Western-style saloon on wheels.
Constructed using a mix of new and reclaimed materials, the multi-level vehicle includes a ground-floor bar and lounge, a rooftop DJ perch, a saloon-size piano, and period-authentic furnishings. This spectacular mobile environment also features hydraulic systems, a state-of-the-art sound system, and working flamethrowers—making it one of the most complex and ambitious custom art car fabrications in the EA portfolio.
JP Conte shares his inspiration:
“It’s about being optimistic about the future and new beginnings. For me the west always conjured up images of optimism, adventure, and new beginnings. We built during the pandemic and we made it more complex by adding hydraulics… then we added flamethrowers. When you see this up close, it’s a really authentic western saloon with tin ceilings, wallpaper, and furniture from the 1800s. We’ve got old photos of my own ancestors and their connection to the west and it’s very personal.”
Engineered Artworks brought this concept to life through custom structural design, metal and wood fabrication, and the seamless integration of artistic and functional systems.
