Unity Flame – Kirkland Fire Station 21 – Kirkland, WA

A permanent public sculpture honoring first responders and community connection

A site-specific metal sculpture designed to honor the strength, unity, and diversity of both the firefighters of Kirkland Fire Station 21 and the residents they serve. This flame-inspired public artwork features twisting, powder-coated steel tubes in warm, vibrant colors, forming an upward spiral that blends motion, symbolism, and material precision.

Crowned by sculptural fire nozzle elements modeled after tools used at Station 21, the piece integrates storytelling and functionality in a bold civic landmark. Each strand represents a unique thread in the community, entwined in a shared rise toward resilience. Unity Flame serves as a welcoming focal point at the station’s entrance and stands as a lasting tribute to first responders.

This project highlights Engineered Artworks’ expertise in public art fabrication, metal sculpture design, and full-service support from engineering to on-site installation.
