For the past 10 years, I have devoted myself to community building, education, and art. Most recently, I worked for The Crucible in Oakland for 6 years as the Events Coordinator, producing numerous Fire Arts Festivals, Fire Ballets, Fire Operas, lecture series, fundraisers and more. Throughout my tenure at The Crucible, I have been a Studio Manager, Project Manager and Metal Fabrication Instructor.
I specialize in custom metal fabrication with an emphasis on interactive and immersive environments.
I am a founding member of Kinetic Steam Works and the Lead Artist/ Artistic Director of the Steampunk Tree House, a site-specific group sculpture project created for the Burning Man event in 2007.
My latest, and most ambitious to date, is the large-scale sculpture project referred to as the Raygun Gothic Rocketship. This “retro” styled Rocketship is 40 feet tall and weighs 13,500lbs… an interactive and immersive piece inspired by 1940’s science fiction and created in collaboration in David Shulman and Nathaniel Taylor with over 70 Bay Area artists and volunteers.
